A private airline’s Delhi–Pune flight triggered a security alert at Lohegaon airport on Thursday night after the airline received a bomb threat, police said.

Following the alert around 9 pm, a Pune police team, along with a bomb detection and disposal squad, conducted a thorough check of the aircraft and the surrounding airport premises. No suspicious object was found during the search.
Deputy commissioner of police Somay Munde said the flight had already taken off from Delhi and landed in Pune, its scheduled destination when the airline received a threat message claiming that a bomb had been planted on board.
“The aircraft and nearby areas were checked till around 10.30 pm. After completing the search, we concluded that it was a hoax threat,” Munde said.
