Pune: The Directorate of Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary) directed education officials across Maharashtra to immediately update pending information for junior colleges in the ongoing Class 11 (FYJC) centralised online admission process, warning that failure to do so could lead to administrative action.

The issue came to light following a petition filed before the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court, where it was observed that certain junior colleges were left out of the admission system. The Directorate noted that colleges seeking inclusion, new divisions, or corrections in institutional details had earlier been instructed to complete the required formalities, but some cases remained pending at the local level.
To address the problem, the Directorate asked divisional and district-level authorities to contact all junior colleges in their jurisdiction and ensure that no institution is left out.
As a final measure, the Directorate provided a special window for updating junior college information in the admission portal.
The Directorate has cautioned that if any junior college remains excluded from the admission process after this opportunity, or if further litigation arises due to such lapses, the concerned officials will be held responsible.
