A massive fire broke out at a warehouse on the Lohegaon–Wagholi Road in Lohegaon on Wednesday, triggering a firefighting operation involving multiple fire stations, said officials.

According to officials, the affected premises housed Royal Automobile and Woods Italia, owned respectively by Naresh Mulla and Sachin Sharma. The land on which the warehouses were constructed belongs to Vinod Khandwe of Lohegaon.
The warehouses, measuring approximately 9,000 sq ft and 1,500 sq ft, were built using iron angles and channels with sheet roofing. A huge quantity of furniture, oil and grease stock was stored inside, which caused the fire to spread rapidly.
Fire tenders from Dhanori, Kharadi, Yerawada and PMRDA fire stations rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control within 40 to 45 minutes. The firefighting effort was led by Sopandev Pawar, incharge fire officer, Dhanori Fire Station.
No casualties were reported and a probe underway to determine the cause of fire.
