The incident occurred around 2.30 pm near Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar Chowk under the Yavat police station limits. According to senior inspector Narayan Deshmukh of Yavat police station, a dispute over vehicle loading operations at the cement company had been brewing between Santosh Balkrishna Kadu of Betwadi in Daund and Suraj Kurhadkar of Ambikanagar, Patas.

Police said supporters of both sides gathered at the spot, leading to a heated confrontation. During the clash, an unidentified person allegedly opened fire, triggering panic in the area. The circumstances leading to the firing and the identity of the shooter are under investigation.

Five persons have been detained for questioning, while efforts are underway to identify and apprehend their accomplices. Police said no confirmed information about injuries has been received so far.
