Gang dupes Pune bizman of ₹5.5 lakh on pretext of providing fake currency notes

The police have initiated legal proceedings against Rupali Raut, Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Vikas Kumar Rawat, Sameer also known as Vishal, and Ashok Patil, as per the complaint filed by the businessman. The incident occurred between March 30 and April 20.

According to the police, Rupali Raut pretended to be a minister and Sanjay Kumar Pandey pretended to be an MLA in Uttar Pradesh. The gang claimed to have the chemicals used to make Indian currency notes.

The gang lured the people by demonstrating the making of fake notes initially and then they would promise people to give them triple fake notes. The gang summoned the complainant in Wanowrie, and demonstrated the process of producing fake notes. The accused demanded ₹10 lakh from the complainant of which the complainant gave ₹5.5 lakh, and assured to give him ₹30 lakh, said officials.

When the gang failed to give the businessman the money, he approached them to return ₹5.5 lakh which he had initially given. The gang the threated him with a gun and he registered a complaint.

The police have filed a case against the six people for circulating fake currency notes.
