Pune: The state-appointed trilingual policy committee, chaired by noted educationist and economist Narendra Jadhav, will hold an open consultative meeting in Pune on November 13.
The meeting, to be held at Zunbar Hall, Council Hall (Vidan Bhavan), at 10 am, aims to gather opinions from a wide range of stakeholders, including educators, linguistic experts, parents, teacher unions, political representatives, civil society groups, and citizens from Pune and Ahilyanagar districts. The consultation will help the committee finalise how and from which grade the three-language formula should be implemented in Maharashtra’s schools.
Ganpat More, deputy director of education (Pune division), said on Tuesday, “The committee seeks meaningful dialogue with all segments of society to shape a balanced and inclusive language policy for our schools.” The committee will incorporate these insights into its final report to be submitted to the state government in December.
The Maharashtra government has constituted the panel to devise a state-specific framework for implementing the three-language policy proposed under NEP 2020.
