Labourer sexually assaults 2-year-old in Pune, arrested

PUNE The Pune police on Monday arrested a 25-year-old man for sexually assaulting a 2-year-old child in Bopkhel area of Pune after luring her with biscuits, said officials.
The arrested man has been identified as Kuleshwar Gajadhar Thakur, 25, a resident of Bopkhel, Pune and a native of Vishnugarh area of Hajaribag, Jharkhand, according to the police.
“The parents live in a labour camp and so does Thakur. The parents had both gone for work and the girl was alone. He offered her biscuits and took her to the forested land at around 12:30pm,” said police sub-inspector Vidya Mane of Dighi police station who is investigating the case.
As the parents returned, the other children told them which direction the man had gone to. The parents followed his trail till the forest cover of a military college where they found the man sitting with the child besides him at around 1:30pm. The child was found with wounds on her cheeks, hands and elsewhere which instantly led the parents to suspect what had happened, according to police.
The girl was rushed to the hospital as the police were informed and the man was arrested. He was also subjected to medical tests.
A case under Sections 376(2)(m), 363, 366(a) of Indian Penal Code along with Sections 4, 5(m), 6, 8,and 12 of Protection of children from sexual offence (POCSO) act, 2012 was registered at Dighi police station.
Online friend booked for sexually assaulting minor boy
A 45-year-old man who met a minor boy online was booked for sexually assaulting him by the way of unnatural sexual acts, according to the police.
The incident happened between March 8 and 9 at the child’s house where the man came to meet him.
The two met on a streaming application and exchanged numbers after which the man, who was known to the boy as “chacha” (uncle in Hindi), came to his house to meet him and sexually assaulted him. A complaint in the matter was lodged by his mother at MIDC Bhosari police station where a case has subsequently been registered under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO.
