Pune: The body of a 20-year-old law college student from Mumbai was found in a gorge near the popular Tiger Point tourist spot in Lonavla on Sunday night.

The deceased, a resident of CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai and studying at an institute in Kalyan, was reported missing on Sunday after going on a solo visit to the hill station on Saturday.
Police confirmed her identity after her backpack, containing her ID card, mobile phone and laptop, was found near a roadside kiosk. Soon after, police and the Shivdurga Rescue Team located her body in the valley and brought it out late at night. Officials said that the father of the deceased is a chartered accountant.
Dinesh Tayade, senior inspector, Lonavla Rural Police Station, said, “With the help of local rescue teams and dog squad, we found her body from a 450 metres deep gorge and handed it over to the family after autopsy.”
The body was identified by the brother of the deceased at the primary health centre in Talegaon Dabhade.
