Sharad Gosavi, chairman, Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), said that they have scheduled this year’s exams 15 days’ later as compared to the previous year.

“Schools have been made centres to ensure that students know the environment and that does not put any pressure on them. We have also increased the number of examination centres. Flying squads are visiting the schools to ensure that there are no malpractices going on. Additionally, a sitting squad has been arranged per school,” Gosavi said.

He added that many students were stressed initially as exams will be conducted offline after a gap of two years. “We understand the pressure on students and so, we have helpline numbers for students at every division to help them with their queries.”

“We have ensured that subject teachers are not working as invigilators during the exam. This has minimised the chances of malpractices. The state board has also assigned a special squad which will inspect during exam hours. This time, students are nervous but we have started practising writing for three hours during school time to make sure that they are in the habit of writing. We have shared the board’s instructions through WhatsApp groups to familiarise students with the process,” said Sinnarkar.
