More than 10 persons (men and women) were injured after a metal beam collapsed during Holi celebrations at Royal Palms, Koregaon Park-Mundhwa Road, on Tuesday. The beam caved in, knocking several people nearby.

Eyewitnesses said that the venue was packed and there were more than 1,000 people present at the time the beam gave way. Many of the injured persons were taken to Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) for treatment. At least four persons were admitted for further medical care while the others received first-aid for minor injuries.
Soon after the accident, Mundhwa police officials reached the site. While the cause of the collapse is being investigated, Smita Wasnik, senior police inspector at Mundhwa police station, said, “On March 3, 2026, a programme was organised at Royal Palms, Mundhwa, on the occasion of Holi. During the event, a horizontal iron beam of the stage collapsed, causing injuries to several persons. One of the injured, Parth Shriram Pawar, sustained serious injuries. In connection with the incident, a case has been registered against the organisers at Mundhwa police station under sections 125, 125(a) and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.”
