To curb air and noise pollution, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has banned construction activities after 9 pm. Developers will be needed to submit a written assurance against conducting construction at night to obtain building permission.

Aniruddha Pawaskar, chief engineer, PMC, said, “Following complaints of construction activity and nighttime noise pollution, the civic body issued a circular on Wednesday banning construction activity at night.”
The municipal body’s circular stated that construction activity is allowed between 7am and 9pm.
A civic official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “Though PMC has banned construction activity at night, the administration may relax restrictions for some big projects, mainly flyovers and metro.”
