PMC plans to place hoardings ahead of G20 summit

As per schedule, the G20 conference has three meetings lined up in Pune, the first of which is in January

In wake of the upcoming G20 conference in the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) intends to put up various banners and hoardings to convey environmental messages to the delegates. To erect the structures, the civic body has allocated a fund of ₹21.12 lakh.

As per schedule, the G20 conference has three meetings lined up in Pune, the first of which is in January. In all readiness, now, the PMC has planned an outreach programme for citizens as well as to welcome foreign delegates.

On Tuesday, the PMC issued a tender and invited the agency to place flex and banners to educate citizens about the environment and the G20 conference.

Chandrakant Patil, the district guardian minister of Pune, has encouraged citizens to take part in this international event.

Patil stated, “It is a fantastic opportunity for India to host the G20 summit. Meetings and preparations are taking place at the government and administration levels. However, the common man must be involved in it actively. To make the event successful, citizens should understand the significance of the conference and what it means for our country on a global front.”
