To solve city’s traffic problem, Pune Metropolitan Region Authority (PMRDA) will soon start work on Solu to Wagoli stretch which is part of the ring road.

Once work is completed, Ahmednagar Road will be directly connected to Pune-Mumbai Expressway. So, vehicles going to Mumbai, Ahmednagar Road and Marathwada region need not enter the city area.
Ramdas Jagtap, public relations officer of PMRDA, said, “We have proposed 65 km ring road, proposed circular outer road, passing through Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and PMRDA regions. This ring road will promote development, as well as avoid traffic problems in both the cities.”
Jagtap said, “We have decided to work on Solu to Wagholi stretch of the road on priority. The work on this stretch will be divided into three phases. The first phase would be Solu to Vadgaon Shinde, and the work will be carried out by PMRDA. The stretch from Vadgaon Shinde-Lohegaon and Lohegaon to Wagholi will be carried out by PMC. The part of Spine Road, Pathare Chowk and Charholi which is in the jurisdiction of PCMC, they will develop it.”
Jagtap said, “Charholi to Nigdi link road once developed will help to connect to the old Pune -Mumbai highway.

Alternate road to Hinjewadi IT Park soon
Instead of going to Hinjewadi from within the city, soon Punekars will be able to commute from Wagholi to Hinjewadi through the new link road. PMRDA has planned to develop a road from Wagholi, Lohegaon, Alandi, Moshi, Nigdi, Punawale to Hinjewadi.
