Pune schools to remain closed on Tuesday

Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi on Monday declared a holiday for all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools on Tuesday, in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits and Haveli tehsil, following an orange alert for heavy rainfall issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD)

The order covers all government, aided, unaided, private, English-medium schools and anganwadis. However, headmasters, teachers and non-teaching staff have been directed to remain present in schools during office hours and assist the local administration in disaster management work if required.
