Pune: The Maharashtra State Council of Examination will hold the second Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in the last week of June this year, said acting chairman Nandkumar Bedse at a press meet in the city on Monday. He said the proposal to hold the exam twice a year, on the lines of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will be approved soon.

Bedse said there will be no relaxation in the qualifying marks for the TET examination as several teachers’ unions have sought consideration citing workload, family responsibilities and health issues.
“As per the directions of the Supreme Court, all teachers are required to clear the TET within the next two years. Hence, the council has decided to increase the frequency of the exam,” he said.
Over reports of a paper leak during the TET examination in Kolhapur, Bedse said, “Investigations by the police and the examination council revealed that no paper leak had occurred.”
