The crime branch unit 4 of Pune city police has arrested two persons for the alleged murder of Akshay Prakash Bhise on Sunday morning. According to the police, the duo hatched the plan inspired by television crime series.

The accused were identified as Santosh Styawan Shinde, 28, from Bidar in Karnataka and his accomplice Sangram alias Babu Raju Bamne of Kanhapuri village in Pandharpur tehsil.
“After the arrest on Wednesday, Shinde confessed to committing the crime after seeing “Crime Patrol” and other crime web series as the victim had an affair with his wife,” said police inspector Jayant Rajurkar.
Shinde used a stolen motorcycle and changed his clothes twice as shown in TV series to avoid police detection while staging his escape. The CCTV camera footage in Pune city and on the Pune–Solapur national highway shows Shinde wearing different dress twice. He also wore helmet to hide his identity. Meanwhile, police collected call record details (CDR) of the victim and identified a few numbers that called him on the day of murder. One of the numbers were from Karnataka, according to the police.
CCTV camera footages also confirmed that the accused riding on motorcycle travelled to Tembhurni in Solapur district.
