Power supply to the Mhalunge switching substation was disrupted on Tuesday evening after an unidentified vehicle crashed into electricity infrastructure near the 400 kV Kuruli extra high-voltage substation, damaging key feeders and toppling two poles.
The incident, around 5 pm, hit the 22 kV Mhalunge switching incomer and the 22 kV MIDC double-circuit feeder, causing significant damage to power lines.
MSEDCL officials said about 11 MW of load was initially affected. Swift contingency measures restored nearly 7 MW through alternate arrangements. Around 4 MW remains disrupted, affecting about 17 consumers, including the Sansera and Ultra express feeders.
Repair work, including pole installation and line restringing, is underway on a war footing. Officials from the Rajgurunagar division said efforts are on to restore the remaining supply within the next few hours.
