There is story about a king, who was very curious to know about the abode of God. He went to various religious places, but could not find the presence of God there.
He returned and asked his couturiers about the abode of God. No one could give him a satisfactory answer. Finally, he gave 24 hours to his minister to find the answer. The minister returned home and was very sad. His son saw his father and asked him about his worry.
After knowing about the problem, the son requested his father to allow him to go to the court and he will give a proper reply to the king. The minister agreed since he knew that his son was very wise and there was no other option.
The next day, everybody assembled in the royal court. The minister’s son went to the adjoining dark room, came back to the royal court and started searching for something. The king asked, “What are you searching for?” The boy replied, “Sir, I am searching for my diamond ring which I had lost in the adjoining dark room. Since there is no light in the room, I am searching for it here”. The king laughed and said, “Oh minister, your son is as much of a fool as you are. Tell him to take a candle and search for his ring there”.
The boy politely replied, “Sir, the same thing I want to convey to you. You are unnecessarily searching for God outside, when in fact you can find Him inside your heart and soul; and that with the light of knowledge, you will remove your ignorance.” The king was very happy as he was fully satisfied with the answer and appreciated his wisdom in the royal court.
