Meanwhile, an electric Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been quite a revelation on the field today. Imran Mir and Bahir Shah have forged a century stand, with both bringing up their half-centuries. Afghanistan are only two wickets down, but Tilak Varma's spin-heavy approach has slowed the scoring rate considerably. Anukul Roy got picked up India's second wicket as Khalid Taniwal departed cheaply. After going wicketless for eight overs, Arshad gets India A a much-needed breakthrough. Imran Mir and Hassan Eisakhil grabbed the bull by its horns to give Afghanistan a flying start, but the partnership was cut short.
Earlier, India finished on a mammoth total of 349/9. Suryansh Shedge, Anukul Roy and Vipraj Nigam played nice cameos towards the end to help India A to 349/9 at Dambulla.
