On Friday, just before the start of the India vs New Zealand second Test, the ICC shared a lovely tweet regarding coach Rahul Dravid, which is winning the internet over.
Rahul Dravid is without a doubt one of the most respective cricket personalities in the world. Unlike other former cricketers, The Wall hardly has any doubters. Even nine years after he retired and finished playing cricket for India, Dravid remains a household name and his association with the Indian cricket team continued when he replaced Ravi Shastri as coach of the senior men's team.
As coach, Dravid has turned bowler and a throwdown specialist in the nets. His off-breaks to batters of the Indian team during the New Zealand T20Is, a clip of which BCCI shared, went viral for all the right reasons, and a video of him giving throwdowns to Rohit Sharma and more recently, Virat Kohli got Twitter talking.
On Friday though, just before the start of the India vs New Zealand second Test, the ICC shared a lovely tweet regarding Dravid, which won the internet over. The board shared posted a picture of Dravid with a bat in hand, captioning: 'Where should India slot Rahul Dravid in?' is winning the internet over.
The post garnered a plethora of reactions, with users on Twitter going back to the yesteryears. Some even wanted the former India batter to end retirement and return to the Playing XI, batting his famous at No. 3 position, while others shared screenshots of some of Dravid 's greatest accomplishments in Indian cricket. More images of Dravid with a bat and helmet emerged when the India coach was seen giving catching practice to fielders Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill.
With wet outfield washing out the first session, the sun was out in Mumbai, and at 11:30 AM, India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat. With India battling three injury concerns in Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma, their places were taken by Kohli, Jayant Yadav and Mohammed Siraj respectively.
