Indian pace spearhead Zaheer Khan is likely to miss the upcoming three-match one-day series against South Africa after sustaining a leg injury during the second Test here.

Zaheer, who has been off field since yesterday's post-tea session, would not be able to take the field in this match as
he still has stiffness in the quadriceps of his right leg.

Sources said S Sreesanth may replace Zaheer in the team for the ODI series starting February 21 in Jaipur.

India will thus miss the services of Zaheer in the remaining sessions of the day.

Zaheer has been out of the field since yesterday's post-tea session and ICC rule states that a player has to compensate the amount of time he spent outside before bowling or batting.

As per the ICC's Standard Test Match Playing Conditions Rule, "If the player is absent from the field for longer than
eight minutes, the player shall not be permitted to bowl in that innings after his return until he has been on the field
for at least that length of playing time for which he was absent."
