The Lucknow Super Giants have made a strong start to their maiden Indian Premier League season even as the side began their campaign with a defeat. The KL Rahul-led Super Giants went down fighting against fellow debutants Gujarat Titans in their opening game, and made a brilliant comeback in their second match against defending champions Chennai Super Kings; the side chased down a 211-run target with three balls remaining to register its maiden IPL win. KL Rahul's men will be aiming to build on the momentum when they face the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who didn't have the best of the starts to the tournament. The Hyderabad franchise faced a 61-run loss in its opening game against the Royals and the pressure will be on Kane Williamson and co. to make amends.

As LSG prepare to take the field in their third match of the season, take a look at the probable XI.

KL Rahul (c) The LSG captain was dismissed on a golden duck in the side's opening game against the Gujarat Titans. However, he returned to run-scoring against the CSK, scoring an important 40 off just 26 deliveries to provide a blistering start to the side. Rahul adopted a more aggressive approach in the innings, and had also stated in the post-match presentation that a strong middle-order allowed him to take more risks; something that was lacking when Rahul was leading the Punjab Kings last season.

Quinton de Kock (wk) The South Africa wicketkeeper-batter produced an impressive performance against CSK, slamming 61 off 45 deliveries as he forged a 99-run partnership for the first wicket with Rahul. The opening stand eventually built the base for Evin Lewis to shift gears in the middle overs, as LSG registered a six-wicket win.

Manish Pandey The right-hander has failed to cross double-figures in both games so far but LSG are likely to stick with him, as he has been a seasoned campaigner in the tournament and it might just be a matter of time before he hits form. During the game against CSK, Pandey came after the 99-run stand between Rahul and De Kock but failed to take the innings forward, as he was dismssied on 5.

Evin Lewis The hero of the previous game, Evin Lewis is a sure starter for the LSG in their game later tonight. Lewis slammed an unbeaten 55 off merely 23 deliveries as he led a stunning run-chase for the Super Giants against Ravindra Jadeja's CSK. The Windies batter hit six fours and three sixes in a blistering knock.

Deepak Hooda The all-rounder has made key contributions for LSG in their first two games so far. Hooda slammed a half-century (55) and also took a wicket in LSG's opening game against GT, and while he bowled only one over in the CSK game, Hooda played a 13-run cameo off 8 balls in the run-chase.

Ayush Badoni The 22-year-old youngster is well on his way to become the find of the season in the Indian Premier League. In two innings so far, Badoni scored 54 and 19*, with the latter coming in a winning cause. Undeterred with the pressure of a high-scoring run-chase, Badoni slammed a six and a four in the last over of the game to steer LSG to victory.

Jason Holder Having arrived late due to West Indies' Test series against England last month, Holder is likely to replace Andrew Tye in the lineup as he is set to be available for the game. Incidentally, Holder will make his maiden appearance for the LSG against his old team, whom he has represented over the past two seasons.

Krunal Pandya This may or may not be their final playing XI, but one thing cannot be contested; LSG will be happy with the depth they have in their batting lineup. Krunal can hit big sixes if needed, and can also build the game if need be. He didn't get to bat in the previous game and was fairly expensive with the ball as well, but the all-rounder remains one of themost important parts of the side.

Andrew Tye The Australian bowler is likely to retain his place in the XI, courtesy of his two wickets in the game against CSK. He might have been expensive (2/40), but Tye bowled an impressive final over where he picked both wickets of Ravindra Jadeja and Dwaine Pretorius.

Avesh Khan The speedster returned figures of 2/38 in the last game against Chennai Super Kings, picking up the key wickets of Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube. He is the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the tournament, and with the performances he has shown in the past two games, there is no reason to doubt if it would be worth the investment.

Ravi Bishnoi Bishnoi returned to his best in the game against Chennai Super Kings as he registered brilliant figures of 2/24 in four overs. The outing becomes more important for Bishnoi as the conditions were significantly difficult for spinners throughout the game, with the dew factor making things more challenging.
