"Always good to win. It is just cramps. Not used to batting for so long. Gives me time though to calculate. Today I got the rhythm and planned my knock. It allows the others to play freely. I have done the other role where I have scored 12 balls 30," says Hardik.

"Having someone like R Ashwin allows us to do that, Devdutt Padikkal batted 3 in the first three games. So it all depends on the combination we are playing," says Samson on promoting Ashwin.

Gujarat Titans are the first team to grab eight points this season. They are now in the first place, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in second and third spot respectively.

“The way Buttler was batting, there's not a lot you can do. He lapped me on the first ball and I had to do something different. It came out well and loved seeing the stumps light up.”

"I would like to give credit to their batsmen. Hardik played well and Miller finished off well. If we would have had wickets in hand, this was chaseable. We were there for the run-rate and it was a matter of a few wickets. We had the power and potential. It was a freaky niggle and we missed Boult's experience in the powerplay. Hopefully he'll be back soon. Hardik had a great day today," says Samson.

Yash Dayal was expensive at the start but picked up three wickets as the game progressed. Lockie Ferguson removed Ashwin and Jos Buttler in the same over, leaving Rajasthan tottering at 65 for three.

Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 87 while Lockie Ferguson and Yash Dayal picked up three wickets each as Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals to go top of the points table. They now have eight points from five games.

Hetmyer had no option but to tonk some boundaries. He seemed tired as well. Royals have now lost six wickets in their haywire batting approach in the 193 chase. Buttler laid a brilliant foundation but found no support. Regular wickets have derailed their chase and the Titans are just four wickets away from clinching the top spot.
