KAR vs J&K Ranji Trophy Final Highlights: Another thoroughly successful day for Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy final, as they reach 527/6 before play is called off in the final session due to bad light. Sahil Lotra reached his half-century and took the team past the 500-mark, and a tiring Karnataka now have their task cut out to try and remove the advantage J&K now have.

J&K skipper Dogra registered a half-century and lost his wicket in the second session, departing for 70 off 166 balls. Shetty removed Kanhaiya Wadhawan in the second session, dismissing him for 70 off 109 balls. Karnataka got their big breakthrough in the first session. Vidyadhar Patil got Shubham Pundir's big wicket, removing him for 121 off 247 balls. Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna dismissed Abdul Samad for 61 off 104 balls. Pundir was in dominant and he built a partnership with Abdul Samad, as J&K reached 284/2 at Stumps on Day 1. Pundir anchored the innings with a composed century, while Samad provided solid support at the other end. The pair’s unbroken stand kept the bowlers at bay and ensured J&K finished the day in complete control, well placed to build a massive first-innings total.

In the first session, Yawer Hassan and Pundir built a dominant partnership as J&K reached 104/1 in 34 overs at Lunch. Hassan departed in the second session, with Prasidh Krishna removing him for 88 off 150 balls. Prasidh Krishna broke the opening partnership in the 11th over, removing Qamran Iqbal for six off 36 balls. Karnataka will be seeking more wickets in the first session on Day 1 as they take on Jammu and Kashmir in the final of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy on Tuesday in Hubballi. Initially, J&K won the toss and opted to bat.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka face a side who have reached the final for the first time in history. Meanwhile, Karnataka have reached the Ranji Trophy final 14 times in the competition's history. Jammu and Kashmir have been dominant this season, defeating the likes of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Bengal. In the quarter-finals, they beat MP by 56 runs, before beating Bengal by six wickets in the semis. In the semis, they also conceded a first-innings lead against Bengal, but still managed to win the match.

On the other hand, Karnataka haven't been in the best of form. But showcased why they are title contenders with a five-wicket win over Punjab, chasing 250 in 28 overs in Mohali. In the knockouts, they have eased past teams, defeating Mumbai by 4 wickets in the quarterfinals and getting 736/323 in the semifinals. The spotlight will be on Jammu and Kashmir's bowlers, who could decide the result in the final. Auqib Nabi has been pivotal for Jammu and Kashmir, taking 55 wickets in nine matches. He will look to test Karnataka and will hope to put in a good performance.
