KKR vs LSG, IPL 2023 Highlights: Rinku classic in vain as Lucknow qualify

Venkates clips the last ball behind the wicket for a four. That is a bumber first over, Venkatesh races to 14 off four while Roy has scored 1 off 2.

Venkatesh skips down the pitch and pulls Mohsin's fifth ball for a six. It goes flying over deep square leg.

Jason Roy and Venkatesh Iyer open for KKR, Mohsin Khan bowls the first over for LSG.

LSG must bowl KKR out for 79 or under to finish in the top two. KKR need a miracle to stay in the playoff race, LSG need a miracle to finish in the top two. There is a possibility that neither of these two miracles happen but then hey, it's always nice to know what to hope for right?

Krishnappa Gowtham has ended the last over with a six and a four! That takes LSG past 170 and so it has been a good fightback from them, it did look at one point that they may struggle to reach even 10. 

Andre Russell bowling the last over. The crowd was chanting "Kohli! Kohli!" as Naveen-ul-Haq came out to bat. He is on strike with Gowtham at the other end and so it is twpo new batters out there.

Six, six and out. This time Pooran is caught at deep backward point. An excellent innings comes to an end and this could very well be the difference between LSG making it to the playoffs or finishing outside the top four.

Four, six and out. That is how Badoni's innings ends. He is caught in the deep after he hits Narine for a four and a six off the fourth and fifth balls of the over.

Pooran on 44 off 25 balls, Badoni is on 14 off 17. 11 runs came off that over despite the fact there was just one four in it. Three wides as well may have helped.

LSG are 122/5. Pooran on 38 off 21 and Badoni on 12 off 15. The partnership between these two is on 49 off 35. They have pretty much given LSG a reason to hope for a total north of 170. This is their period as well and so KKR desperately need a wicket.

Suyash Rana had been brought in for Harshit Rana as an impact player at the end of the 11th over. He comes in to bowl the 15th and the first ball disappears over deep midwicket.

Nicholas Pooran on 24 off 12 balls and Ayush Badoni on four off six. Pooran has provided a real impetus to this LSG innings but he does need to play another blinder here. 

Chakravarthy cops another from Pooran. First ball of the 13th, full on the stumps and Pooran smashes him straight over his own head for another six.

4, 4, 6 is how the three balls after the wicket has gone. Chakravarthy tosses it up and Pooran goes for a six down the ground one-handed.

The two deliveries right after the wicket go for fours. The first one is streaky, an edge that goes past diving first slip to the boundary. Then Pooran cuts the next delivery behind point for four.

Full around off from Chakravarthy for the first ball of the 11th. De Kock goes for a slog sweep and holes out to Russel at deep midwicket.

Narine has struck in his first over. Krunal Pandya goes for a slog sweep and he holes out at deep square leg.

What an over this is from Arora. He welcomes Stoinis with a bouncer and then follows that up with another. Stoinis has no clue about that, shoulders his arms and the ball pings off his gloves straight into the hands of flying slip.

The field spreads out after the powerplay and Mankad holes out in the deep. Can't quite middle a lofted shot over covers and Harshit Rana comes running in from sweeper cover to take a good catch.

15 runs off this one, Mankad has raced to 26 off 19 whole De Kock is 20 off 13. These two overs have salvaged the powerplay for LSG.

A good over at last for LSG. 12 runs off it. Prerak Mankad with all the runs, hitting three fours off the first, fourth and last balls. Now Rana brings in Varun Chakravarthy for the last over of the powerplay. 

LSG 27/1 after 4 overs. Vaibhav Arora goes slightly full on the stumps to De Kock for the last ball of the fourth, the South African sends it over the deep backward square boundary.
