Lightning guided stalker Debkumar Maity to ‘fall in love’ with Sara Tendulkar

Debkumar Maity, who was arrested for stalking Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar, presented a bizarre logic behind his actions.

Bizarre would be an understatement to desribe the reason given by Debkumar Maity, who was arrested for stalking Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter. Maity has claimed he was guided by lightening to fall in love with Sara Tendulkar!

Maity was recently arrested and detained after he stalked Tendulkar’s 20-year-old daughter by making umpteen calls to her home and even daring to visit the cricket legend’s office with a marriage proposal for Sara. He gave some bizzare reasons to the media after his arrest, trying to explaining his “love for Sara”.

The 32-year-old stalker from West Bengal said he fell in love with Tendulkar’s daughter after watching her on TV. And when lightning struck to confirm his love, he decided to marry her.

“I looked up in the sky and asked, ‘Is Sara Tendulkar my wife?’, and lightning struck to confirm it. I said it on the phone when I called Tendulkar’s office,” said Maity.

“I used to say, in broken Hindi, ‘Sara Tendulkar is my life and I want to marry her’,” he said before showing a tattoo reading ‘Deb and Sara’ on his wrist. He said that he got the tattoo made in 2011 when Sara was only 13.

“Ships, trains stop at my sight. Even I am the best in the world. I do not regret any of my decisions.”

Sara lodged a complaint against Maity after suffering the ordeal for weeks. Post the complaint, the police arrested Maity from East Midnapore. His family has blamed his actions to the unstable mental condition he suffers from.

Maity is not the first person who has harassed Tendulkar’s daughter. Recently, Nitin Shisode, a 39-year-old techie, was also detained by cyber police for making a fake Twitter handle of Sara Tendulkar.
