Mayers went off to a slow start and Khaleel Ahmed gave him a life when he was on 14 with an utterly unbelievable dropped catch. The drop was only part of what has been a horrendous show in the field from Delhi Capitals, particularly in the first 10 overs. Mayers responded by smashing the DC bowlers all over the park and racing past 50 in just 28 balls. He eventually fell to a quite extraordinary delivery from Axar Patel on 73 off 38 balls. However, LSG kept the pace of the innings up with young Ayush Badoni smashing 18 off seven balls. DC brought on Krishnappa Gowtham to face the last ball as an impact player for Badoni as soon as the latter got out and the former ended up smashing the only ball he faced for a six. LSG thus ended up reaching a score of 193/6 in 20 overs.
