SA vs NZ, Champions Trophy 2025 Semi Final: New Zealand will face India in the final after beating South Africa by 50 runs. That margin would've been far worse had it not been for David Miller smashing a whopping 48 runs in the last three overs to finish unbeaten on 100 off 67 balls. His last-wicket partnership with Lungi Ngidi ended on 56 off just 27 balls, with Miller smashing 54 of those runs in 25. A victory was mathematically impossible for South Africa even before Miller started the onslaught though and so his celebrations were subdued.

South Africa looked like they were on track to chasing down the mammoth target of 363 for just over 20 overs of their innings but New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has triggered a collapse that has now put them almost entirely out of the competition. Santner dismissed the well-set pair of Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen and then dismissed the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen for just three runs. David Miller replaced the latter and has stayed in the middle for the Proteas but he has seen Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder fall at the other end.

Markram was looking good early in his knock with Van der Dussen at the other end. Bavuma had scored 56 in 71 balls and his partnership with Rassie Van der Dussen was on 105 off as many balls when he fell to his New Zealand counterpart Mitchell Santner. Van der Dussen, meanwhile, also scored a half-century.

South Africa were off to a sluggish start as they chase in the mammoth chase with Bavuma especially be stuck in a hole early on. However, he and Van der Dussen picked up pace towards the end of the first powerplay and the partnership between them eventually crossed 50 in just 40 balls.

Earlier, New Zealand smashed as many as 111 runs in the last 10 overs to finish on a mammoth score of 362/6 in 50 overs in their 2025 Champions Trophy semi-final against South Africa in Lahore. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson put up a mammoth stand of 164 off 154 balls which gave New Zealand an incredible platform to take off from. The partnership was ended by Kagiso Rabada in the 34th over as he dismissed Ravindra for 108 off just 101 balls. It was Ravindra's fifth ODI century, all of which have come in ICC events. Ravindra and Williamson's partnership had left South Africa bereft of ideas in the middle overs. It was an intriguing contest in Lahore when the two had come together, with South Africa doing well to keep a check on the scoring rate. However, New Zealand weren't looking too bogged down thanks to the way Ravindra and Williamson were rotating strike. New Zealand earlier lost Will Young in the eighth over.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bat first in Lahore
