The one-match match, to be played at the Wanderers Stadium, is to commemorate 150 years of Indian settlement in South Africa and is to be an annual fixture.

Dhoni and company, including Robin Uthappa who replaced Sachin Tendulkar in the squad after the Asia Cup in Dhaka, attended the felicitation function of retired batsman Rahul Dravid at a hotel last evening before proceeding to South Africa.

Just after returning from South Africa, the Indian players will start playing in the Indian Premier League, commencing in Chennai on April 4.

The cash-rich T20 tournament will end on May 27.
