Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar braved a finger injury to play in the Indian Premier League final against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on Sunday.

Tendulkar was doubtful after he injured his right hand in the semifinals against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the wound had to given five stitches.
The master batsman's presence was important in the final as he has been inspirational on the field and also has emerged as the top run scorer with 570 runs at an average of 47.50.
"I have decided to play. It is fantastic atmosphere. I am excited to be here. The moment has come and we hope we have a good day. The team has played well so far," Tendulkar said.
