The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had launched the second phase of its ‘Save Uttarakhand’ campaign on May 17 to popularise the achievements of the Delhi government and expose the “wrongdoings of the BJP and the Congress” in Uttarakhand.

The AAP rally, which arrived at Gairsain on Sunday and will proceed towards Gopeshwar on Monday, is spreading word that both the BJP and the Congress are growing “increasingly insecure” due to its rising popularity among locals in the Garhwal hills.

This move comes after AAP leaders lodged a complaint with the Rudraprayag police against Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat on Saturday for allegedly threatening a party leader to stop the rally and of using foul language.

Rawat is one of the nine rebel MLAs of the Congress who joined the BJP on May 18 after being disqualified by the high court earlier this month.

AAP leaders have also accused the sitting lawmakers in the state of “absolute anarchy” and of having “no fear of rules” and of considering themselves “above the law of the land”.
