Dehradun: Apprehensions have been expressed over the level of investments pouring into Uttarakhand after the end of the concessional package to industries in year 2010. It was being said that the industries would move out of Uttarakhand in absence of tax holiday, but the recent moves of the state government seem to have beckoned many investors to the state.

The investment in the industrial estates of Uttarakhand has touched Rs 30,000 crore. The state government has been saying that they are making all efforts to attract new investment.

General manager of State Infrastructure and Industrial Department of Uttarakhand Limited (SIIDCUL),
SL Semwal said that investment is pouring into the state and some textile companies from China have shown interest in setting up units in Sitarganj. He pointed out that the state government was giving single window clearance to the industrialists which was instrumental in pumping investment to Uttarakhand. “This is one of the first cylinder manufacturing units set up in the industrial estate and we hope that this would give a big boost to the manufacturing sector of Uttarakhand”, said Semwal.
