A teenager died after falling from the fourth floor of a hospital in north-west Delhi’s Bharat Nagar. The boy aged 14 years reportedly fell to his death while trying to escape the hospital.

Investigation revealed the teenager was admitted to the drug rehabilitation ward of the Deep Chand Bandhu Government Hospital on March 29.
Eyewitnesses claimed to have told police that at around 5 pm, they saw the teenager hanging from the window of the fourth floor trying to jump to the third floor balcony and escape the hospital. He had reportedly broken the window in an attempt to flee the hospital.
DCP North West Miind Dumbere told HT, “It appears that he was trying to escape from the window and accidentally fell down. We have initiated an inquiry into the matter. A case of negligence may be registered.”
The Delhi government hospital has one of the largest juvenile drug de addiction centers. A 30 bed ward was inaugurated in May. The hospital reportedly has over 15 teenagers in the drug de-addiction ward.
