The Delhi high court, while retaining a decision by a single judge, directed the registration of FIR against former Delhi Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar and former CBI inspector Vinod Kumar Pandey for preparing forged documents in a CBI case.
A bench of chief justice Rajendra Menon and justice Anup J Bhambhani dismissed the appeals by Kumar and Pandey against the 2006 order of a single judge of the High court directing an FIR against them.
“On June 26, 2006, the writ court had directed the registration of an FIR and subsequent investigation that was to be concluded within two months. This order has not been given effect till now. Accordingly, we direct for the registration of the FIR forthwith and conclude the investigation within a period of two months...,” the bench said.
Kumar, however, said, “We have not received a copy of the order and if required, we will appeal in a higher court.”
