After monsoon showers on Tuesday evening, Delhi woke up to a pleasant morning. The MeT department has predicted moderate rains on Wednesday, which may last till Thursday afternoon. The temperature is likely to reach a high of 32 degree Celsius, which is five degrees below normal. On Monday, the day temperature in Delhi had reached 38 degrees Celsius.

After days of muggy weather, heavy rains lashed Delhi on Tuesday afternoon.

Delhi recorded 24.7 mm of rain between 8.30 am on Tuesday and Monday 8.30 am. “ Sky will be overcast,” said a MET official.

Parts of Delhi, such as Lodhi Road, received up to 41mm of rain — the highest since monsoon arrived on July 2.

Delhi usually receives its maximum rain in July, August and September. But this year, it received around 191.9mm of rain in June – nearly 2.5 times. Experts said it was the wettest June in more than 10 years.

Temperature hovered around 35 degree Celsius on Tuesday and dipped to 28.5 degree Celsius in the evening.
Tuesday’s rain also spelt chaos on the roads causing waterlogging and traffic jams across the city.
