The lead female dancer, Kozachenko Kateryna is from Ukraine.

Asked why it was decided to bring the performance to the Capital, Dinesh B. Singh, founder of Navrasa Duende, said, “Delhi was the natural choice for the ballet since it is a city with a thriving performing arts scene. Moreover, both young as well as older audiences here possess the artistic sensibilities to enjoy the intricate dance form that is ballet.”

The artists practice from morning to evening and around 8 hours a day.

It might be an old ballet, but its key message, that love conquers all, is as true today as it was 122 years ago when it was first performed. “It is a fantasy tale based on human emotions, which is why audiences still relate to it. Another reason for its universal appeal is the mellifluous blend of multiple musical and dance forms within a single ballet,” adds Kazatskiy.

The principal female dancer of the show, Kozachenko Kateryna is from Ukraine and Váňa Jan is performing as the male lead. Jan says, “We are extremely excited to perform In India and we just hope that audience like our performance.”

The artists practice around eight hours a day. Kateryna says, “As artists, we have to go through a disciplined training and take good care of our physical and mental fitness. We need to practice from morning to evening for about 8 hours, five to six days each week.”
