NEW DELHI: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s report on medical equipment in Delhi government hospitals between May and September 2015 found cases of non-utilisation, under-utilisation and idling of equipment across all the selected hospitals.

This included Deen Dayal Upadhyay, GB Pant, Guru Teg Bahadur and Lok Nayak Hospital.

The report found there was no comprehensive plan for procurement of medical equipment, either by the health department or by any hospital.

There were delays of up to two years in procuring equipment, though a consultant firm was engaged to prevent it. Hospitals spent ` 94.78 lakh on repair of equipment that was under warranty, the report said.
