GURGAON: The Haryana government has formed an 8-member committee of retired senior bureaucrats including former state chief secretary, principle secretaries and RWA representatives for preparing a draft for the much needed unified development wing Gurgaon Development Authority (GDA).

“The monster traffic jam that struckthecityonThursdayattractinglargepublicoutragecaughtthe attention of Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar. The CM has now asked the committee to submit the draft by August 15,” Gupta added.

The committee, headed by former Haryana chief secretary MC Gupta, is also studying the development model of many world class metros including London, Melbourne, Singapore.

SP Gupta, director-general of the state-run Haryana Institute of Public Administration, who is the general secretary of the committee, said the committee was earlier scheduled to table its report by August 31.

Sources close to the committee disclosed that the proposed draft has suggested that the Haryana CM be the chairman of GDA.
