14-year-old girl ‘raped’ by 19-year old ‘friend’ in Delhi’s Anand Parbat area

The 19-year-old accused befriended the girl, and on Friday, he took her to his room where he allegedly forced himself upon her, the police said.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager living at the same neighbourhood in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat area, police said on Monday.

The 19-year-old accused befriended the girl, and on Friday, he took her to his room where he allegedly forced himself upon her, they said.

The girl later told her relatives about the incident following which police was informed. A case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC was registered and the accused arrested, a senior official said.

Police have, however, refuted claims by locals that some other persons were also present in the spot at the time of the incident.

The girl was sent for counselling and the accused produced before a court which sent him to 14-days’ judicial custody, the official added.
