According to the police, the assailants allegedly waylaid 36-year-old Roshan Lal
and his friend near Baprola village on the Najafgarh-Nangloi road as he was passing through around 5 pm.

Lal allegedly owned a jewellery shop in Karol Bagh, and was carrying Rs 5 lakh, which were weekend collections from his shop when the incident occurred, police said.

After they shot Lal, the duo abandoned their motorcycle bearing a Haryana registration number at the crime scene and fled in Lal’s car.

Roshan Lal, who was shot in the head, was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

“A case of murder and loot has been registered. We are also questioning the victim's colleague,” said a senior police officer.

Bomb hoax
The Satyam Cinema and shops in the Janakpuri District Centre in west Delhi was evacuated on Sunday after police received a telephone call alleging there was a bomb inside the theatre, police said.

The call was found to be a hoax as a police team accompanied by the Bomb Disposal Squad undertook an extensive search of the complex.
