The staccato burst of gunfire at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) in Mumbai at 21:21 hrs last night hardly gave an inkling of the shape of things to come up in the next two to three hours.

Giving a blow-by-blow account of the terror strikes, Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Home Ministry M L Kumawat on Thursday said the next firing occurred at Leopold Cafe at 21:48 hrs, followed by a similar incident at Hotel Oberoi at 21:57 hrs.
The terrorists then struck Hotel Taj at 22:03, Colaba at 22:25 hrs, Times of India at 22:50 hrs, Bombay Municipal Corporation at 22:51 hrs and Memosis Building at 22:54 hrs, he said.
Kumawat said the terrorists attacked Cama Hospital at 22:59 hrs, GT Hospital at 23:19 hrs and Head Office Gate No. 6 at 00:07 hrs. They then struck State Bank of India at 00:29 hrs and Vidhan Bhavan at 00:32 hrs.
The grenade attacks were carried out at Mazgaon, Bombay Port Trust colony, Hotel Oberoi, Colaba market, Panchpayari, Cama Hospital, Nehru Road, N B Highway and Free Press Road, he said.
Security men near the CST railway station challenged the terrorists. One terrorist was killed and another nabbed near the metro junction.
