It’s that time of the year again that book lovers in the city eagerly look forward to.

The annual Delhi Book Fair kickstarted in the Capital on Saturday. Inaugurated by Vice-President Hamid Ansari, the first day saw both bibliophiles and curious onlookers crowding Pragati Maidan, where the fair is being held, to take a look at the wide variety of books on display. From popular fiction to educational and children books, the fair has it all.
A big hit were the stalls promoting online teaching CDs which were displayed on huge screens. “Most of the time these CDs are not available in the market. Those that are available are quite expensive. At least at the book fair we can buy the CDs at discounted rates,” said Anuja Khanna, a college student browsing in one of the stall.
At another stall, author Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller, The 3 Mistakes of My Life, as well as other popular titles, such as The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and Amitav Ghosh’s recent release, Sea of Poppies, were drawing huge crowd.
Strolling around different titles and buying books, most readers seemed to be enjoying themselves.
