Bus conductor tries to sodomise helpers, killed

A 24-year-old bus conductor was allegedly strangled to death by two juveniles in west Delhi's Janakpuri area late on Wednesday night. The murder took inside a private bus after a scuffle that broke out between the two boys -- both bus cleaners -- and the victim who allegedly attempted to have unnatural sex with them.

The deceased, identified as Kalafadu, had a criminal background. He worked in a bus hired by a private school in RK Puram. The victim's hands and legs were tied before he was murdered, said the police.

A case of murder was registered at the Janakpuri police station and the two accused have been apprehended. They were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and were later sent to a observation home, the police added.

V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west), said the incident came to light on Thursday morning after Kalafadu's body was discovered inside the bus by a conductor of another bus that was parked nearby.

"The bus was parked in front of its owner's house in Janakpuri A Block, when the incident took place. A case was registered on a statement by bus owner Inderpal Ahlawat, who runs a private transport company and owns 13 buses, all attached with schools, on contract," said a senior police officer.

The drivers, the senior officer said, park the buses on the service road in front of Inderpal's house and go home. The conductors sleep in the buses.

"When interrogated, the boys told us that they used to sleep with Kaladafu in the bus. The deceased attempted unnatural sex with them, after which a fight broke out and they killed Kaladafu," added the officer.
