The incident was reported Wednesday and a complaint registered.

According to police, victim Dileep Singh, a money exchanger working with a private travel service company, said that he boarded a train from the Rithala Metro station Wednesday afternoon and was headed for Peeragarhi.

After coming out of the station, he checked his bag and found the money, comprising dollars and euros, missing. He then registered a complaint, police said.

Apart from the police, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is also investigating the matter as it guards all the Metro stations.

"We are also conducting an investigation. We suspect Dileep Singh because he never handed over his bag to anyone during his travel on the Metro. It is surprising how the money was stolen from his bag," CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh said.
