A week after monsoon hit the Capital and laid bare all tall claims of preparedness, the civic bodies are apparently waking up in to stop more waterlogging in the days to come.

A week after monsoon hit the Capital and laid bare all tall claims of preparedness, the civic bodies are apparently waking up in to stop more waterlogging in the days to come.

While North corporation leaders will be visiting all the six zones in its jurisdiction to check claims of desilting on the ground, the South body has injected more manpower in its monsoon fleet.

North Delhi mayor Azad Singh, chairman standing committee, Ram Kishan Singhal, leader of the House Mahinder Nagpal and Leader of Opposition Mukesh Goel along with commissioner PK Gupta and other officials inspected various areas for monsoon preparedness, desilting of drains and cleaning of dhallaos.

“Immediate solutions will be provided for shortcomings noticed in the visit,” Mahinder Nagpal said, adding that he has written to the chief minister and Lieutenant-Governor attaching snaps of the areas.

In South Delhi on the other hand, every ward will now have more manpower in tackling waterlogging. The proposal was passed in the corporation’s standing committee meeting on Tuesday.
