The car with registration no HR 51 T 6646 belongs to an army doctor who says it disappeared after he went to the park with his family for a picnic. The matter was reported to Delhi Police and security personnel are trying to retrieve the vehicle, said sources.

On Wednesday morning, a Tata Safari with a VIP hooter and beacon was stolen from the residence of Anand Swarup, the inspector general of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The vehicle was allegedly hijacked and was reported missing after the driver, Vijay Kumar, was found dead in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district.

The missing cars have worried security agencies following the Pathankot attack, in which the terrorists had stolen a Punjab police officers vehicle to reach the air force station.
