A blanket of fog coupled with icy winds gave no respite from the winter chill to Delhiites on Wednesday morning as the minimum temperature settled three notches below average at 4.6 degrees Celsius.

However, a clear and sunny day has been forecast.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said visibility at 8.30 am was 500 metres and humidity was 85 %.
"A clear and sunny day lies ahead for Delhi with a cold evening," an IMD official told IANS. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees.
The Met office said the coldest day of the season so far has been Dec 25 when the minimum temperature dropped to 2.9 degrees -- five notches below average.
Tuesday's minimum temperature was recorded at 4.5 degrees, three notches below average, while the maximum settled at 17.9 degrees.
