Nearly six months after having undergone angioplasty to clear her blocked artery, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit visited Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre for a follow-up on Wednesday.

Dikshit, 74, arrived at the hospital with her staff in the afternoon around 3pm and stayed for nearly three hours.
Sources in the hospital claimed that Dikshit had come in for a routine medical check-up. “She underwent some preventive tests but was not even admitted into a room,” said a hospital source.
Dikshit was examined by Dr Ashok Seth, chairman, cardiac sciences, who had earlier performed her angioplasty, at the hospital. “There was nothing to worry about; it was just a routine check-up,” said the hospital source. She left the hospital around 6pm.
A stent was put in her right artery on November 27, last year. She was admitted to the hospital, after she had complained of fatigue.
