Malik to be produced in court today

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will produce Wasim Akram Malik, an arrested accused in the Delhi high court blast case, before the special court on Friday after completion of his police remand.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will produce Wasim Akram Malik, an arrested accused in the Delhi high court blast case, before the special court on Friday after completion of his police remand.

Wasim was arrested by the NIA on October 7 and was produced before the special court the next day.

The court had remanded him to NIA’s custody till October 21. Wasim, a native of Kishtwar, had been studying medicine in when NIA asked him to join the investigation.

Wasim was the third accused to be arrested in the case.

Before him, the NIA had arrested a juvenile from Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on charges of sending the email that claimed responsibility for the September 7 blast at the high court.

The juvenile told investigators that he had sent the email on the instructions of another Kishtwar native Amir Abbas Dev. Dev was also arrested.
