Man axes son to death in a fit of rage

A 25-year-old man was axed to death by his father in north-west Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh on Sunday. Police said the victim, Naresh Kumar, used to beat up his parents.

“He used to argue with his parents and demand money for liquor. The same thing happened on Sunday night. In a fit of rage, Sita Ram, his father, hit Naresh on the head with an axe,” a senior police officer said.

A PCR call was made about the incident and Naresh was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Sita Ram has been arrested.

In another incident, a 22-year-old man was shot dead inside his house by unidentified men in Mayur Vihar on Sunday night. The victim, Sameer, was living in Trilokpuri with his parents.

The motive behind the murder is unknown.
